Greetings!
My name is Joshua Stevenson, and I go by the DJ alias of DjH2. I've been DJing at various bars and lounges throught the New York City metroplex since I was 17 years old. I first started DJing Drum & Bass at an open turntable event in a lounge in Greenpoint, Brooklyn called "Splendid".
I then transitioned to DJing a weekly event at the Orchard Bar called "Recess Wednesdays" for a few months, until then club was closed due to license violations. I then took time out to develop my skills as a producer (i was a producer before becoming a DJ) and soon became the personal DJ for an upcoming artist named Sciryl (who has been featured on Def Poetry Jam) as well as DJing an album release party at The Bowery Room for another artist named Charles Hamilton who was recently signed to Interscope Records.
I am now currently teaching afterschool programs with Kaplan K-12 services, as well as DJing @ The Five Spot in Brooklyn on Mondays. However, I am still searching for a weekly opportunity to DJ within a club atmosphere. I currently spin Hip-Hop (old and new school), Funk, Disco and Electronica/Dance; and I am equipped with a Technics SL-1210 Turntable, a Denon S-5000 CD Turntable and a Numark Mixer. I have a large selection of music (7000+ songs, excluding my actual vinyl collection) and can accommidate to any party's needs due to the fact that I have a CD turntable.
My main focus as a DJ is to make sure the people are having a good time, no matter what they're doing within the club. Good music, good vibes and good atmosphere is my goal when rocking a party, and due to the testimonials I've recieved: I do just that.
I hope that I can be a valuable asset to your venue, and I am looking forward to hearing from you. Thank you for taking the time to read this.
Sincerely,
Joshua Stevenson (DjH2)
